Fortnite 2.16 Update Patch Notes

Fortnite 2.16 Update Patch Notes (Fortnite 8.40.1)

The Fortnite 2.16 update patch notes (Fortnite 8.40.1have been detailed by developer Epic Games. This new Fortnite patch specifically targets the “issues that started occurring in patch 8.40.” This is the reason why the new Fortnite update today is being rolled out at an unexpected time. While the 8.40 update introduced many awesome new additions to the game, including the Air Royale limited time mode event and new Epic and Legendary variants of the Infantry Rifle, it has also caused a bit of chaos in terms with connectivity. The 2.16 (8.40.1) update aims to fix these issues across PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Android, and iPhone. Happily, no downtime is required, but players will need to exit the game and download the new patch to be able to continue matchmaking and playing with others.

Fortnite 2.16 Update Patch Notes

The Fortnite 2.16 update patch notes (Fortnite 8.40.1) are short, sweet, and not very specific. Following the 8.40 update, which implemented a number of welcome additions to the game including new modes and bug fixes, a number of issues were also introduced. Epic Games has been working to fix these problems by way of a patch, which is what the 2.16 (8.40.1) update contains.

Officially, this is solely an update intended to “to resolve some issues that started occurring in patch v8.40.” It requires no downtime, which means servers will remain online and players won’t have to take a break. Users will, however, need to exit the game and “Check for updates” in order to download the latest patch and experience the new improvements.

As with all Fortnite updates, you can expect dataminers to be digging into the new files, hoping to find some new hints at upcoming content or future events. With that said, the developers have been adamant that this patch purely contains fixes and no actual content.
