Mortal Kombat 11 1.03 Update Patch Notes | New Towers of Time upgrades, better payouts, and more

The Mortal Kombat 11 1.02 update patch notes bring some highly anticipated changes to the game even though it just came out. The game’s hard towers have been addressed as well as how much they currency they dish out. Also NetherRealm even gave players a special gift for sticking with the game. This update is currently out for PS4 and is coming to Xbox One, PC, and Switch soon.

Mortal Kombat 11 1.03 Update Patch Notes | A thank you gift from NetherRealm

As the studio stated on its stream, players will receive the following reward for playing the game:

  • 500,000 Koins
  • 500 Hearts
  • 1,000 Soul Fragments
  • 1,000 Time Krystals

Each of those can unlock cosmetic item in some shape or form. The first three can be used in the Krypt although Koins have a more broad usage. Time Krystals can purchase items in the revolving shop and can be bought with real money. These will we doled out sometime a bit after the patch if you haven’t gotten them already.

Mortal Kombat 11 1.03 Update Patch Notes | Tower fixes and more currency

The difficulty of the AI in the Towers of Time has been reduced. Players were complaining about how hard these fighters were in addition to how overbearing the modifiers were. This means the AI is less likely to be cheap to win and, combined with the lowered health, should make these challenges more manageable. NetherRealm did this in a variety of different ways from nerfing the damage and frequency of modifiers, making some of them blockable, and dumbing down the AI.

The game will also dish out more rewards. Koins and Hearts should see a sizable boost. This is to address the complaint that the Krypt was too expensive. Players now earn more Koins by playing ranked matches, AI battles, breakables in the Krypt, Dragon Challenges, and towers. The game also gives out more Hearts for brutalities, fatalities, and mercies. For example, fatalities earn three Hearts instead of one, brutalities give five Hearts instead of two, and Dragon Challenges yield 1,000 Koins instead of 100.

These Mortal Kombat 11 1.03 update patch notes have some bug fixes but they do not contain any balance updates. These were mainly emergency fixes to combat the issues people were having with the game’s economy. However, you can fully expect balance patches at some point in the future.
