How to get the BFG in Rage 2
To get the BFG 9000 in Rage 2, you’ll have to have the deluxe edition DLC installed. If you bought the game on Steam, it should automatically install along with the main game. However, on a console you may have to install the DLC separately if it doesn’t automatically start when you download the game.
Before you can trigger the appearance of the BFG, you’ll need to get the in-game message that the deluxe edition content has been installed. For me, playing the PC version, this happened the second time I launched the game. When I loaded my game, I got a pop-up for both the pre-order bonus and the deluxe edition content.
Once you’ve gotten the message in Rage 2 that the BFG 9000 DLC has been installed, you can go find it in game.
Finding the BFG 9000 location in Rage 2
Even once you have the deluxe edition DLC installed it won’t just appear in your inventory. Instead, you’ll have to go find it. If you’ve already played a bit before the message popped up telling you that the Rage 2 deluxe edition DLC has installed, you might be a ways away from where you can get the BFG. Fortunately, there’s a prominent landmark right by where the BFG 9000 drops that you can’t miss.
To find the location of the BFG in Rage 2, you need to head towards Vineland. This is where you start the game, and it is in the southern part of the map. You really can’t miss it.
Once you’re near Vineland, you will see something fall out of the sky and crash into a hill nearby. Go investigate, and in the rubble, you’ll find the BFG.
How to get more ammo for the BFG 9000 in Rage 2
Ammo for the BFG just doesn’t drop like it does for other guns in Rage 2. Instead, you’ll need to purchase it from a vendor when you need a refill.
You can find ammo for the BFG 9000 in Wellspring. Just look for the vendors, and you’ll find one that sells ammunition for all your weapons, including the BFG.
