It took a month or so but some of the Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack 1 has been officially revealed by NetherRealm Studios. Before now, little was known about its release date and what characters were going to be part of it. Luckily, we’re here to bring what information we know about it. Find out more about the Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack 1 with our guide.
Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack 1 | Release date
The Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack 1 will be the first post-launch DLC that will be patched into the game and will include six characters and 19 exclusive skins. Shang Tsung is the first character and will come out on June 18 for Kombat Pack owners and June 25 separately.
So when can we expect to see the rest of Kombat Pack 1 go live? We don’t know yet. Characters usually take about a month for NetherRealm but Shang Tsung is taking over two months. This could be a pattern for the rest of the fighters.
Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack 1 | Characters
The Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack 1 is introducing six new playable characters to the roster. These characters are:
- Shang Tsung
- Two more unknown guests
This is somewhat accurate to what dataminers have of uncovered not too long ago. Iconic DC villain Joker, the Terminator, and classic Mortal Kombat characters Nightwolf, Sindel, and Sheeva have all been found within the game’s files. Mortal Kombat has a rich history of third-party fighters, so expect one of them to be right on the money. Nightwolf, Shang Tsung, and Sindel all give credence to this whole list since those are confirmed. However, this doesn’t also confirm the rest of those fighters.
Ash from Evil Dead was another, but actor Bruce Campbell has already shot those rumors down on Twitter. We guess we’ll just have to wait and see what NetherRealm have up its sleeve in the near future. But coincidentally, the Shang Tsung trailer had a chainsaw sound effect at the end, which Ash is known for.
NetherRealm has released Frost, and Shao Kahn as pre-order bonuses or unlockable characters to play as, but these are not part of the Kombat Pack.
Right now, we’ll have to be patient and hope Kombat Pack 1 arrives sooner rather than later. We’ll update this page accordingly as soon as we hear more.
