It shouldn’t be too long before the Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack 1 is officially revealed by NetherRealm Studios. For now, little is known about its release date and what characters may be part of it. Luckily, we’re here to bring what information we know about it. Find out more about the Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack 1 with our guide.
Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack 1 | Release date
The Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack 1 will be the first post-launch DLC that will be patched into the game. It’ll be very similar to the Kombat Pack that was a pre-order bonus for certain editions of the game when it launched. The Kombat Pack includes six playable characters, seven exclusive character skins, and seven sets of gear and will, presumably, be parsed out over two or three Kombat Packs.
So when can we expect to see Kombat Pack 1 go live? Well, game developers and publishers seem to have an unwritten DLC agreement whereby they release DLC installments every three months. With the game only being released in April, that would mean that we wouldn’t see Kombat Pack 1 until July at the very earliest.
Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack 1 | Characters
The Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack 1 should introduce six new playable characters for you to try out. So far NetherRealm has released Frost, and Shao Kahn as pre-order bonuses or unlockable characters to play as, but there’s many more that fans want to see added to the roster.
As for those that we could see in Kombat Pack 1, we’re unsure. However, data miners have uncovered a list of possible DLC characters [via GameCrate] who could be part of this next expansion. Iconic DC villain Joker, the Terminator, and classic Mortal Kombat character Nightwolf have all been found within the game’s files. Mortal Kombat has a rich history of third-party fighters, so expect one of them to be right on the money.
Ash from Evil Dead was another, but actor Bruce Campbell has already shot those rumors down on Twitter. We guess we’ll just have to wait and see what NetherRealm have up their sleeve in the near future.
We may even get the likes of Shang Tsung, Reptile, and Ermac (who was mentioned in the game’s Story Mode), added in the near future but, again, nothing has been confirmed.
Right now, we’ll have to be patient and hope Kombat Pack 1 arrives sooner rather than later. We’ll update this page accordingly as soon as we hear more!
