No, there is no Resident Evil 4 Switch motion controls functionality for the Nintendo console port. Gamers had been wondering if motion control support would be part of this port but, unfortunately, they aren’t.

This was confirmed by Reddit users when one fan asked if motion controls would be an option that they could toggle on during the game. In this thread on the Resident Evil sub-reddit, fans revealed that there was no functionality for motion controls, despite the Nintendo Switch supporting them.

Resident Evil 4 Switch Motion Controls | Why aren’t they supported?

Resident Evil 4 Switch Motion Controls

The reason behind a lack of Resident Evil 4 Switch motion controls support is a pretty standard one. Basically, developer Capcom decided that it would port the PS4 and Xbox One HD game to the Nintendo Switch. By doing this, Capcom brought over a title that doesn’t support motion controls as, well, the PS4 and Xbox One don’t use their motion controllers anymore.

It makes sense for Capcom to port this version over rather than the Wii edition, which did support motion control functionality. Directly porting an existing HD option is far easier than scaling up the Wii version’s graphics. It remains to be seen whether the Nintendo Switch fanbase would want motion controls for Resident Evil 4 anyway, so this is the most logical option available.

There are other control settings in the game, such as using the Joy-Cons independently or using a Switch Pro controller. In terms of motion control support though, you’ll be disappointed if you hoped that this port would have them.
