The first beta test for Gears 5 went live last week and allowed players to hop onto tech test servers and try their hand at the newest game in the Gears franchise. The first testing period got off to a bit of a rough start with long wait times and server issues, but the majority of those who got to play liked what they saw. For the reason, the developers at The Coalition have decided to give Xbox players another shot at the tech test. The Gears 5 Xbox beta test will be a second chance for players to get a look at Gears 5 before it releases this September.
Gears 5 Xbox Beta Test | Release date, start time, and more
If you missed out on the first round of beta testing for Gears 5, then today is your lucky day…if you’re an Xbox player anyways. The second round of the Gears 5 testing will begin tomorrow, July 26 and will run through July 29. Unlike the last round of testing, The Gears 5 Xbox Beta Test will be available to all Xbox Live Gold members, even if you haven’t preordered the game. Stating tomorrow at 10 am PDT, players can begin their journey through the Gears 5 Boot Camp and Arcade mode to get a taste of what is to come when Gears 5 launches on September 10 this fall.
Starting today, players can preload Gears 5 so they don’t miss out on any of the action. If you want to beat the rush, simply head to the Microsoft Store and search for Gears 5. You’ll find the game page where you can download the game onto your console in preparation for the beta test.
The Coalition is also offering players a special reward that will carry over into the full game this fall. If you log into the Gears 5 Xbox beta test from 5:30 – 6:30 pm PDT on July 26, you’ll be eligible for the Wreath Bloodspray reward. To claim your prize, you’ll need to complete one match during the beta test. Should be simple enough, right?
