Fire Emblem: Three Houses Change Outfits | How to change clothes

If you want to change outfits in Fire Emblem: Three Houses you’re likely having some trouble finding where to do it. This is especially true if you bought the expansion pass as the very first DLC lets you change clothes and wear the Academy outfit.

Well, there’s one centralized place to change clothes in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, but unfortunately, it’s confusingly titled. We’ll tell you when you get the ability to change outfits below, and where you can go to do it.

How to change clothes in Fire Emblem: Three Houses

Fire Emblem Three Houses Change Outfit Journal Location

If you’ve purchased the expansion pass, you’ll see a message when you start Fire Emblem: Three Houses that says, “You can now select the Officers Academy uniform for the protagonist. This uniform can be found in the Journal. If it is selected, the player character will wear the uniform during events, battles, or while in the Monastery.” When I was playing, I figured the option was in the menu since it looks like a journal when you open it. I searched through every option and didn’t find anything to do with changing clothes.

Well, the Journal is entirely separate from your main menu. Though you’ll be informed that you have the option to change into the Academy outfit right at the title menu if you’ve purchased the expansion pass, you can’t actually change clothes until you’re around an hour or so into the game.

To change outfits in Fire Emblem: Three Houses you’ll have to progress through the prologue and make it to Chapter 1: Three Houses. When it begins, you’ll have to accept your first quest from Rhea and meet the heads of all three houses. Once you do that, you’ll be asked to choose a house, and then you’ll get the option to go on your first academy exploration segment.

Fire Emblem Three Houses Change Outfit Academy with Cloak

When you choose to explore, you’ll spawn in your room. Right next to you will be the Journal sitting on your desk. By default, you’ll either have no costumes to choose from, or if you bought the expansion pass, you can switch between the War and Academy (with or without cloak) outfits.

In our time with Fire Emblem: Three Houses so far we haven’t unlocked any further outfits. However, it seems like the Journal menu has provisions for switching between characters, and perhaps even changing things other than just their attire. So, check every nook and cranny to make sure you don’t miss new outfits to change into in Fire Emblem: Three Houses!
