How to find The Outer Worlds Distress Signal on Terra 2

The Outer Worlds distress signal on Terra 2 isn’t the most obvious mission you get in the game. It says it’s on a planet but you might find yourself on that planet wandering around for some mysterious distress beacon. Well, you’re not going to come across it that way so here’s how to find the distress signal in The Outer Worlds on Terra 2.

The Outer Worlds Distress Signal on Terra 2 | How to find it

You first get this mission from Gladys (the old woman) on the Groundbreaker, which is one of the areas you visit early in the game. You can pay her 10,000 bits for the dirt she wants or you can earn some of that money by doing her bidding. And that task is finding that distress beacon on Terra 2. But contrary to the objective title, you actually have to go to your ship first as you won’t randomly come across it in the wild.

To start this mission, you must first go to your ship and go to the main computer, which you can see in the above picture (although that isn’t the exact distress call from this mission, that is what they look like). Here, you can ask Ada, your red computerized assistant, to play the distress beacon for you. It will show a video of a distressed scientist. This will then open up another landing pad you can visit: the Roseway landing pad. You can find this on your navigation terminal that is right next to Ada’s computer.

From here, go to that navigation terminal and choose Terra 2, then pick the new landing pad. Once you do this, you’ll be able to exit your ship like normal (after a loading screen) and visit the new area. It’s oddly not connected by land to the first area of Terra 2, which is where some of the confusion might come in. This landing pad is a whole separate area on the same planet.

After you land, you can walk forward and go into the locked down city to start some new missions. Be sure to go through the buildings as there are multiple quest givers and many of them have their objectives in the same raptidon-infested building.
