Death Stranding 1.04 Update Patch Notes

Death Stranding 1.04 Update Patch Notes (Day One patch)

The Death Stranding 1.04 update patch notes are ready for you to read. The Death Stranding day one update is rolling out today (November 7) across PS4 platforms, allowing players to download and install the new patch ahead of the game’s release. This should mean that new players won’t have to wait around to start enjoying the new game from Hideo Kojima and his team at Kojima Productions. Read on for the full list of changes.

At just over 1 GB in size, the Death Stranding 1.04 update isn’t as massive as most day one patches, which is good news for those looking to jump into the game as soon as possible. Having to sit through a 30+ GB download and install, not to mention that pesky “copying,” can be a nightmare. Thankfully, that isn’t the issue here!

Available to read through the game’s “Update History” on the PlayStation 4, the 1.04 update patch notes detail the following changes:

Version 1.04

  • Various performance improvements
  • Multiple problems fixed

I won’t lie, those aren’t the most helpful patch notes that I’ve ever read! I suppose the developers are pretty busy with the launch to offer super-detailed information…

On the bright side, it’s at least good to see that the already great performance has apparently been given further tweaks to be better, and “problems” being “fixed” is always good news!

If the new Death Stranding update hasn’t automatically downloaded for you, be sure to highlight the game at your PS4 menu, hit the “Options” button on your controller, and then select “Check for update.” This will force the new 1.04 update to download and install.

You should be able to do this ahead of the game’s official launch in your region, meaning you can get the game fully updated and ready for when that countdown hits zero.
