How to hack droids in Jedi Fallen Order

Hacking Droids is an ability you get in Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order as you progress through the game. You’ll eventually be able to hack both Probe Droids and Security Droids and turn your former foes into allies. First, though, you’ll have to find the location of both Droid hacking abilities, which can be tricky as they’re off the beaten path.

Below we’ll give you the locations of both Droid hacking abilities in Jedi Fallen Order. We’ll also show you what you have to do once you have the capability to hack both Probe Droids and Security Droids

Jedi Fallen Order Slice: Probe Droid Ability Location

You’ll find the ability to hack Probe Droids in Jedi Fallen Order in the Imperial Headquarters on Zeffo. It’s hard to miss this one as you pass right by just before the elevator to the Tomb of Miktrull.

How to hack a Probe Droid in Jedi Fallen Order

To hack a Probe Droid, you’ll need to get close to it. The best way to do this is to use Force Pull on one. It’ll zip right into your hand. Then all you need to do is press down on the D-Pad when the prompt appears. BD-1 will then hop onto the Droid, and when its eyes turn from red to blue, it’ll be under your control. The Probe Droid will then float around and fire the occasional laser at your enemies.

Jedi Fallen Order Slice: Security Droid Ability Location

Finding the Security Droid hacking ability is a bit tougher. From the meditation circle at the Imperial Refinery, just after you leave the Forest Trench, look for a path on the right that leads to a spinning platform. Use slow on it, and cross over and climb up to find an area with a workbench. Examine the workbench to get the ability to hack Security Droids.

How to hack a Security Droid in Jedi Fallen Order

Hacking a Security Droid takes a little more work than hacking a Probe Droid. You’ll need to get the droid to around 1/3-1/4 of its total health first. Then, when you get close to it, you should see the prompt to have BD-1 hack it. Once the hack goes through, the Security Droid will fight on your side for a limited time.
