Tips and Tricks
Don't skip the optional objectives, as they'll allow you to upgrade and gain experience more quickly. Good reload speed will allow you to fire extra shots at your enemies before a turn concludes.
You can get pretty close to the red rings of patrolling ships before you're caught.
Use your spider shot at the start of a firing phase, not the end. If there's no exposed magazine, it's still worth firing off your rifle to get some more damage in. If you’ve equipped your ship with a perk that increases the damage of your next attack, save it for a mortar volley, not a standard swivel hit.
If you’re kitted out with a speed boost, use it during a race mission, not on the open sea. The power of your shots is only as good as your aim, and any cannonballs the target dodges will reduce damage done.
Completing the optional objectives in each side quest will unlock more resources, giving you more room to buy upgrades and earn experience faster. Using your weapons as quickly as possible means setting them up for reload as quickly as possible, giving you more of an opportunity to hit enemies again in a single turn.Related: Assassin's Creed Pirates Trailer
