Super Smash Bros Ultimate 7.0.0 Update Patch Notes (January 28)

Update: The Super Smash Bros Ultimate 7.0.0 update patch notes are live now. Skip to the end of this guide to read through them.

A brand-new Super Smash Bros Ultimate update is on the way soon, launching alongside the Byleth DLC on January 28 (in North America, at least). You can skip to the end of this guide to have a read through the complete list of Super Smash Bros Ultimate 7.0.0 update patch notes once they are live closer to the date. In the meantime, however, you can read through a selection of the version 7.0.0 update highlights below.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate 7.0.0 Update Highlights

Super Smash Bros Ultimate 7.0.0 update

As with a good number of the new Super Smash Bros Ultimate updates, the primary focus of version 7.0.0 looks to be adding in the latest DLC. This means that following the 7.0.0 update on January 28, you should be able to play as Byleth, whether you want to or not. It’s not just Byleth being added, however. Read on for more on what’s to come.

Byleth

No matter your opinion on Byleth, the multi-talented Fire Emblem Three Houses character is coming to Smash Bros Ultimate on January 28/29, depending on where you live. Byleth and his/her stage and music should be available to use following the 7.0.0 update.

Mii Costumes

Alongside the addition of Byleth is a whole host of DLC Mii Fighter costumes, including the ludicrously detailed Cuphead skin. These new Mii costumes will be available for an extra $0.75 each. We still think it’s mad that Assassin’s Creed is to be represented in Super Smash Bros.

Other Changes

Alongside the DLC additions, you will be able to pre-purchase the Fighters Pass 2 following the update. This contains six (!) new characters, yet to be announced. We imagine the normal list of fixes and adjustments will be made, too. Because it’s a big update, you’ll need to convert any replays up to this point as videos and save them elsewhere. You won’t be able to watch old replays following the 7.0.0 update, unfortunately.
