Can you unlock an Alex Mason Modern Warfare Operator?

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 3 is finally here and alongside new maps and weapons, a host of new Operators have also been announced. These multiplayer character skins are a great way of expressing yourself and celebrating Call of Duty past and present, although, the addition of an Alex cosmetic seems to be causing some confusion. With that in mind, is there an Alex Mason Modern Warfare Operator? In this guide, we’ll let you know whether or not you can expect to unlock the Call of Duty: Black Ops protagonist for use in CoD: Modern Warfare (2019) and CoD: Warzone.

Is there an Alex Mason Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Operator?

It’s easy to see where wires have been crossed, but, unfortunately, there isn’t an Alex Mason Modern Warfare Operator included in Season 3. In fact, it’s Alex —one of the main Modern Warfare protagonists, portrayed by Chad Michael Collins — that’s unlockable with the purchase of CoD: MW‘s Season 3 Battle Pass or Battle Pass Bundle.

The lack of a surname led many CoD fans to believe that Mason was joining the roster, what with the beloved character also fitting the bill of a campaign protagonist going by the name of Alex. Unfortunately, though Mason does fit the description, looking into things a little further makes it clear that he isn’t being added to either Modern Warfare or Call of Duty: Warzone as a multiplayer Operator.

On the upside, misplaced excitement from fans should at least make it clear to Activision and Infinity Ward that there’s plenty of demand to see the character make a comeback. Who knows, maybe he could be added in a later Season as a result of this confusion.
