Often spoken about and asked for, is 2020 the year when Warframe cross-save and cross-platform play gets added to the game? In this guide, we’ll let you in on whether there is a Warframe cross-save release date in 2020 or not. Read on to find out everything there is to know about Warframe cross-progression and whether it will happen any time soon on the online third-person shooter RPG.
Is Warframe cross-save and cross-platform play coming in 2020?
Seven years after its initial release, Warframe cross-save functions could be added into the game in 2020. Unfortunately, the development team has not confirmed a cross-save release date. Therefore, this guide is a speculatory piece. We don’t know for sure when cross-save, cross-progression, and cross-platform play will come to Warframe, but we can say that it could be soon, hopefully by the end of 2020. This is thanks to comments made by the game’s development team.
Back in 2019, during the Warframe Devstream #128 broadcast, the developers explained that “crossplay isn’t on our radar, but cross-progression is. We’re still discussing the best way to approach this.” Unfortunately, since then, there has been no sign of cross-progression coming to Warframe. Thanks to the comment, though, we do know that cross-progression is something that is being worked on, or, at least, thought about.
It seems as though cross-progression and cross-saves is the priority in Warframe right now, ahead of cross-platform play. Thanks to this PCGamesN post from December 2019, we know that cross-play is indeed on the radar for Warframe, however, but cross-save is the main focus. Unfortunately, it would appear that we are a ways off from having cross-platform play in Warframe. Before we get it, cross-save functionality needs to be added. Hopefully, though, as stated above, we get Warframe cross-save functions added to the game before the end of 2020. We’ll update this guide with a release date if one is given for cross-saves and cross-platform play in Warframe.
