Is Wasteland 3 coming to Nintendo Switch?

Unfortunately, there are no known plans to release a Wasteland 3 Nintendo Switch version. Since InXile isn’t planning to develop the post-apocalyptic sequel for Switch, it obviously hasn’t announced a Wasteland 3 Nintendo Switch release date.

Wasteland 3 was crowdfunded via Fig, with the campaign overview immediately making it clear there were no plans for a Switch release. Wasteland 3 has only ever been intended to hit “Windows, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.”

While that paints a bleak picture, there is perhaps a faint glimmer of hope that we’ll eventually see the game on Switch. Since Wasteland 3 was successfully funded, Wasteland 2: Director’s Cut has been released for Nintendo Switch. Not only that, but Microsft has bought InXile Entertainment and integrated them into Xbox Game Studios. This should accommodate the studio’s growth, while also increasing the scope of Wasteland 3.

With the financial backing of Microsoft, perhaps there is the budget for a Nintendo Switch release now. The Xbox company porting its catalog to Switch certainly isn’t out of the ordinary, what with games like Hellblade, Minecraft, Cuphead, Ori and the Blind Forest, and more already having made the transition.
