Crucible High Latency error

Crucible High Latency Error | Server packets delayed fix

Amazon Games’ Crucible is available now on PC via Steam, though it isn’t without teething problems. Players are encountered a red error pop-up informing them that “Packets to and from the server are delayed.” What exactly does that mean, though? And is there a Crucible High Latency error fix? Stick with us for everything you need to know.

Seeing this error message appear in Crucible can be quite concerning:

“! HIGH LATENCY

Packets to and from the server are delayed.”

Although the exclamation mark and block capitals make the situation seem serious, you shouldn’t worry too much. This error is most likely on Amazon and Relentless Studios’ end, although there’s no harm in troubleshooting your connection to be sure. First, you’ll simply want to try playing another match, though, if the latency error persists, you can follow these simple steps.

Crucible High Latency error fix

  • Attempt to play another match; the error can sometimes rectify itself.
  • If that doesn’t work, close the game completely.
  • Reset your internet router.
  • Wait for it to fully reboot, then relaunch Crucible on your PC.
  • Attempt to play a match.
  • If you still encounter trouble, you might want to consider connecting via another Wi-Fi network or mobile data.
  • Check the Crucible Twitter account for potential server status updates.
  • Stop playing for now and come back later, preferably at an off-peak time.

Although it’s annoying to encounter issues, Crucible is in its infancy and hopefully we’ll see the servers become more stable in time. Since the High Latency error message tends to rectify itself, in most cases, the problem is generally with the hosting game servers and not player clients. Even in the absence of an official status update, we’d recommend waiting and trying again later if you’re persistently being bombarded by the Crucible High Latency error message.
