PS4 exclusive Nioh 2 is pretty great, as you already know if you’ve read our review, so it’s no wonder that people want more. Thankfully, exactly that is on the way in the form of three all-new expansions to the Souls-like samurai game. When can you expect to get your hands on them, though? Keep scrolling for everything you need to know about the upcoming Nioh 2 DLC release date.
When is the Nioh 2 DLC release date?
Nioh 2 is scheduled to receive three DLC packs that expand upon the game’s story. The first of these expansions, titled Tengu’s Disciple, is scheduled to release later this summer on July 30. The Nioh 2 Tengu’s Disciple DLC will have players discover a mysterious whistle called the Sohayamaru; its radiance reveals shadow Yokai that must be defeated in order to restore peace to the land of Yashima.
While we know that the Tengu’s Disciple release date is just a couple of months away, no release window has been given for either of the remaining Nioh 2 story expansions. If we were to speculate that all of the DLC packs will take a similar timeframe to produce, it’s possible that the second Nioh 2 DLC will launch this November and the third Nioh 2 DLC will launch in March 2021. That’d round out a full year of post-launch support nicely, though, to reiterate, this is merely speculation.
The Nioh 2 Season Pass is already available for $20. Presumably, all of the game’s story expansions will also be available to purchase individually upon their release. According to the PSN Store listing, each DLC will offer “hours of brand-new missions and side-quests, along with new content including deadly weapons to wield, combat abilities to unleash and characters to interact with.”
