During its Pokemon Presents Nintendo Direct, Nintendo and Game Freak revealed the news we’ve all been waiting to hear: A new Pokemon Snap game is in development! What you want to know, though, is when is the New Pokemon Snap Nintendo Switch release date? Read through this guide to find out when we think the New Pokemon Snap release date will be.
When is the New Pokemon Snap Nintendo Switch release date?
As of writing, the game’s release date is to-be-determined (TBD), we’d like to think that it will release sometime during 2021, however. During its reveal teaser trailer, no New Pokemon Snap release date was given. Instead, we were told that the game is “coming soon” and is “under construction.” Based on this, and given that we are now (as of writing) half-way through 2020, a 2020 release date appears exceedingly unlikely. This is why we’re leaning towards a 2021 release date.

Unfortunately, without an official word from Game Freak or Nintendo, we simply cannot say for certain when the New Pokemon Snap Nintendo Switch release date will be. We are simply theorizing that it will release in 2021 at some point. In terms of when to expect the game in 2021, we’d argue sometime in the summer. Given it hasn’t even received a vague release window, we’re imagining there is still a good chunk of development left to finish with this one. A second-half 2021 release date seems somewhat likely.
New Pokemon Snap is an all-new Pokemon Snap game for Nintendo Switch. It’s being developed by Bandai Namco and published by Nintendo. In the game, you’ll be taking photographs of Pokemon across various different unknown islands. It’s a chance to spot different Pokemon in their own habitat, with unique expressions and actions to capture a memory of and enjoy. Each photo you take of a new Pokemon will cross that ‘Mon off your list and add it to your personal Pokemon Photodex. Hopefully, we learn more about the game soon. We’ll update this guide with a release date when the information becomes available.
