What is a Personal Break in Clash of Clans?
A Personal Break in Clash of Clans is an enforced time that you spend away from the game every now and then. A Personal Break will be enforced upon you after four hours of online playtime (Village Guard counts as online time). During your Personal Break time, you will be open to attack for a set time (a few minutes). During a Personal Break, you are unable to go back online. It is, essentially, an enforced break away from the game, so no one is online for 24 hours a day. This gives other players a chance to attack you and begin new games among players.
There are ways to get around Personal Breaks to some extent. Getting any Shield, for example, resets your Personal Break timer from its initial 4-hour reset time. Use this checklist to find out how to reset your Clash of Clans Personal Break timer back to four hours:
- Getting a Shield (any Shield) resets your Personal Break timer
- Stay offline for 15 minutes
- Buying a two-hour Village Guard (costs 10 Gems)
- Adds two hours to your Personal Break timer
- Village Guard time counts as online playtime, no matter what
