ANIMAL CROSSING NEW HORIZONS WHY IS PASCAL NOT SHOWING UP

Why is Pascal not showing up in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

The new Animal Crossing: New Horizons update has launched today, but while swimming and diving have been added, some players are finding that Pascal is not showing up in Animal Crossing. The otter is supposed to give players recipes from the Mermaid set in exchange for scallops, though players are struggling to find the newly added character while swimming and diving. So how do you make Pascal appear?

Animal Crossing: New Horizons | Pascal not showing up explained

Pascal gives players valuable Mermaid set recipes in exchange for scallops, but he doesn’t do this every time a scallop is found. Pascal only appears once a day in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Pascal will appear the first time you catch a scallop per day, with him then giving you a recipe from the Mermaid set. After this, Pascal won’t reappear on the same day, with you having to wait until the following day to catch a scallop and trigger his appearance.

Pascal won’t be trigged on each scallop catch, as that would give players’ swift access to Animal Crossing: New Horizons‘ full Mermaid set. Like everything in Animal Crossing, Nintendo wants to players to take it slow, meaning that you’ll have to return each day to catch a scallop and grab a new Mermaid recipe.

However, if you lack the patience to wait for Pascal to appear, you can always time travel.

If you want to make Pascal appear in Animal Crossing and get the full Mermaid set sooner rather than later, simply move your Nintendo Switch’s clock forward a day after each Pascal appearance. You’ll then be able to quickly accumulate the Mermaid set.

But for those who want to wait it out for Pascal, you’ll have to dive into the sea each day and start grabbing those scallops.
