Modern Warfare & Warzone | How to inspect your gun

Proud of your Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone weapon skins? Feel like giving them a closer look? If so, good news: It’s now possible to inspect your gun in Call of Duty. The weapon inspection feature was added in the recent Season 5 update, and using it couldn’t be more easy. Here’s how it works.

How to inspect your gun in Call of Duty Modern Warfare Warzone

To inspect your gun, simply hold left on the D-Pad. This works for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. PC players can inspect their weapons by pressing and holding the I key.

After pressing and holding the inspect weapon button, your character will move the gun around the screen, giving you a nice eyeful. Slick. It’s not just for guns, either: You can also inspect your knife skins.

There’s only one catch: You have to be standing still in order to inspect your weapon. It won’t work if you’re running, shooting, jumping, or moving otherwise. Then again, if you’re moving about, you wouldn’t really be able to get a good look at your weapon anyway. It’s also a bad idea to inspect your weapon during a firefight, but hey, we won’t judge.

This may seem like kind of a silly feature, but it isn’t. After all, Call of Duty players are very fond of their weapons. This is especially true for players with rare guns, expensive skins, or even one of Season 5’s new weapons. Plus, it’s a feature that’s been available in a bunch of other competitive games, including past Call of Duty releases as well as Valorant and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

So rejoice, weapon collectors. It may have taken months to be introduced, but you’re finally able to inspect your gun any time you like. Now you can show off on your stream, take better weapon screenshots, or simply soak in the beauty of your current loadout.
