How to climb in Fall Guys Ultimate Knockout

How to climb in Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout might be a chaotic 60-player melee, but it’s not without some nuance. Aside from jumping and diving your way to victory (or an untimely demise), it’s also possible to climb over certain obstacles. However, not everyone knows how to climb, probably because the mechanic is fairly difficult to use. Fortunately for you, we’re here to help.

Fall Guys - How to climb

To climb in Fall Guys, you need to make use of the game’s grab mechanic. You’re probably already familiar with grabbing characters or objects, and climbing works in a similar way. Press R2 on the PS4 (or Shift on PC) to grab onto a surface, then move your character up in order to climb.

Like with other elements of the game, climbing in Fall Guys takes a surprising amount of precision. You’ll need to time your grab perfectly in order to actually latch onto a surface. Grab too soon or too late and you’ll miss. Time it just right, though, and you’ll be able to climb right on up.

The difficulty inherent to climbing is probably the reason why you don’t see it very often. However, that’s also why it’s the perfect trick to learn: It’ll give you an edge over your opponents. Maybe you can trim a few seconds off your fastest time, or maybe you’ll find a new shortcut through the stage. Or maybe you just want to latch onto other characters and drag them down off a ledge. Whatever your desire may be, try it out and see what happens.

Climbing in Fall Guys works almost the same as grabbing anything else. Jump toward a ledge, hold R2 or Shift, then pull yourself up. It takes proper timing, but with practice and a bit of patience, you’ll be climbing like a pro in no time.
