With your first try it's better to focus on just getting through the level. Trying to get them will make you loose speed and make it more difficult to clear the stage. You can always come back for medals, assets, and stamps.

Once you get back take the time to fully explore the stages instead of just rushing through them as soon as possible since there are plenty of secrets to find in each stage.

When aiming with the slingshot, time slows down but the skull will keep moving so that it’s possible to make multiple shots without loosing speed.

You don't always have to jump from hand to hand. Sometimes it's smarter to bypass them altogether.

The best way to kill a skeleton is from behind. Or you can get up close to make it swing its weapon, then jump back, and close in for the kill.
