Quests are the fastest way of gaining more coins, more experience points, and more new rewards.
Each time you travel you're gonna play a mini-game. Try and get the best out of them it pay in a long run.
If you don't need any of the items from the mini-games, it's worth skipping them to speed things along.
Take side-quests when you spot them they usualy don't involve too much work.
