Valorant Snowball Fight start and end dates

A new holiday-inspired game mode is landing in Valorant for a limited time. It’s called Snowball Fight, and it’s a radical departure from the title’s typical tight, competitive gameplay. Of course, being a seasonal treat, it won’t stick around for long. Here’s a look at the start and end dates for the Valorant Snowball Fight mode.

Valorant Snowball Fight mode start and end dates

The Snowball Fight mode in Valorant will start on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. It will run for two straight weeks and end on Tuesday, December 29, 2020. The team at Riot Games has stated the Snowball mode could return after the end date if it’s well-received by players.

Snowball Fight is very different from the default game mode in Valorant. It’s pitched as a team deathmatch mode “with a holiday twist.” The action is centered primarily around the snowball launcher, which obviously shoots snowballs at enemy players. These frigid projectiles won’t fly like typical bullets, meaning players will have to adjust their range and aim accordingly. Thankfully, it has infinite ammo, so there’s no need to stop shooting.

There’s another twist, too. Each map will feature various power-ups in the form of gifts. After grabbing a gift, players will receive one of four different power-ups:

  • Rapid-fire, which drastically increases fire rate
  • Growball, which causes projectiles to grow while midair
  • Ricochet, which allows snowballs to bounce off walls or the ground
  • Skates, which increase movement speed and jump height

Each match of Snowball Fight is a race to see which team can earn 50 kills. Respawns are enabled, and gifts will occasionally spawn out of random portals. Aside from the snowball launcher, the only other weapon is the knife. Also, remember that only one power-up can be active at any given time.

Snowball Fight won’t stick around Valorant for very long, so check it out while you can. It will begin on December 15 and end on December 29, 2020. After that, it will only return if Riot Games deems it worthy enough to bring back.
