You need at least 1,000 followers to go live on TikTok. Furthermore, the option to stream live on TikTok may not appear until a few days after you reach 1,000 subscribers. Otherwise, you should see the Live section appear in the app with a big red Go Live button after the minimum number of followers has been reached.
There is at least one notable exception to the rule: According to the TikTok community guidelines, account holders under the age of 16 will not be able to host a live stream. These users will be unable to go live regardless of how many followers they’re able to earn. Beyond that, users must be at least 18 years of age in order to send or receive virtual gifts.
Otherwise, the system seems to be fairly straightforward. Most users should see the option to go live appear a matter of hours or days after reaching 1,000 followers. - Find and tap the Live button
- Choose a title for your stream, then press the red button to Go Live
It’s worth keeping in mind that live streams are also subject to the community guidelines. Be sure to follow the rules, or you may lose livestreaming privileges. You may even wind up shadowbanned or lose total account access.
