Cyberpunk 2077 - How to honk the horn

Cyberpunk 2077 | How to honk the horn

Danger awaits pedestrians littering the streets of Night City in Cyberpunk 2077. Cars are among the fastest ways of getting around, and players may be inclined to mow a few civilians down on the way to their next checkpoint. However, there is a way to signal your presence to NPCs, and it involves honking your vehicle’s horn. But which button do you need to press to honk the horn? And does the horn serve any real purpose? Read on to find out.

How to honk the horn in Cyberpunk 2077

To honk your vehicle’s horn in Cyberpunk 2077, press in the left analog stick on your controller. That’s L3 on PlayStation or LS on Xbox. Alternatively, PC players can honk the horn by pressing the left Ctrl key on the keyboard.

While honking the horn doesn’t really have an effect on gameplay, it does come into play in one specific mission called Send in the Clowns. During this side quest, players have to pick up a character named Ozob. Right after parking their car, they’ll need to honk the horn to signal their arrival. Ozob won’t show up unless the horn is honked, which is bad news for players who don’t know how.

Otherwise, the honk seems to be pretty useless. Most if not all vehicles have a horn, but pedestrians don’t seem to respond to it. If you were hoping to get NPCs out of the road while making a speedy getaway, honking the horn isn’t going to help. No matter how loud your car is or how fast you’re driving, they’re seemingly oblivious. Keep that in mind if you’re trying to keep the heat off your tail.

Still, it’s nice to know the option is there. All you need to do to honk your horn in Cyberpunk 2077 is press in the left joystick, or hit left Ctrl on PC. It’s really only useful in the Send in the Clowns side quest, unless you just like making loud noises.
