Little Nightmares 2 Secret Ending | What does it mean?

The Little Nightmares 2 secret ending is unlocked by interacting with all glitched children, but what does it mean? Just like the normal ending, this alternative or good ending expands on the story and also blurs the timeline. Here is what the secret ending means in Little Nightmares 2.

What does the Little Nightmares 2 secret ending mean?

Little Nightmares 2 Secret Ending

Little Nightmares 2’s secret ending suggests that this title, which was thought to be a sequel, is actually a prequel.

In the secret ending, which is unlocked after interacting with all glitched children, a glitching version of Six appears in front of the real Six. The glitched figure points towards a poster that advertises The Maw, the ship/submarine/restaurant location from the first game.

It appears that the glitch is telling Six to go to The Maw, setting up the events of the first game. Despite its use of “2” in the title, the secret ending does suggest that Little Nightmares 2 takes place before Little Nightmares. Other theories about the prequel theory can be found here.

An alternative theory is that Six and Mono are both stuck in a time loop, with events repeating themselves forever. This also opens up the possibility that The Lady on The Maw is an older version of Six, in a similar way to Mono being the Tall Man.

It’s also possible that Mono is in control of the glitched messengers, tricking Six into going to The Maw. There are many different ways to interpret the glitched children and copy of Six, as the game doesn’t give too much away.

This secret ending ends up asking more questions than it answers and it will be interesting to see where the story goes from here.
