Ability Guide







Ori and the Blind Forest includes three separate ability trees which focus on different skill areas, such as the orange one which emphasizes offense. Players can jump around between trees with each new ability point, but the upgrades go in a linear order for each tree. The follow list adheres to the linear order.



Cyan Tree
  • Rekindle (Allows reusing Soul Links and shortens the cooldown timer; costs 1 point)
  • Regroup (Creating a Soul Link restores 1 Life Cell; costs 1 point)
  • Charge Flame Efficiency (Halves the cost of Charge Flame; costs 1 point)
  • Ultra Soul Link (Creating a Soul Link restores 2 Life Cells; costs 2 points)
  • Water Breath (Allows Ori to breathe in clean water; costs 2 points)
  • Soul Link Efficiency (Halves the cost of Soul Link; costs 2 points)
  • Triple Jump (Allows a third jump in the air; costs 3 points)
  • Ultra Defense (Reduces the damage inflicted by enemies; costs 3 points)


Orange Tree
  • Quick Flame (Allows you to shoot three flames before recharging; costs 1 point)
  • Spark Flame (Increases the strength of the Spirit Flame; costs 1 point)
  • Charge Flame Burn (Improves the radius and damage of the Charge Flame; costs 1 point)
  • Spirit Flame (Allows the Spirit Flame to damage two targets at once; costs 1 point)
  • Ultra Bash (Increases damage and allows bashing through enemies; costs 2 points)
  • Cinder Flame (Further increases the strength of the Spirit Flame; costs 2 points)
  • Ultra Stomp (Increases radius and damage of Stomp; costs 2 points)
  • Rapid Flame (Allows the Spirit Flame to be fired more rapidly; costs 2 points)
  • Charge Flame Blast (Enhances the radius and attack damage of Charge Flame; costs 3 points)
  • Ultra Split Flame (Further increases Spirit Flame damage and allows to hit four targets at once; costs 3 points)


Purple Tree
  • Spirit Magnet (Most pickups now float to Ori; costs 1 point)
  • Map Markers (Make most pickups show up on the map; costs 1 point)
  • Life Efficiency (Life pickups will restore twice as much life; costs 1 point)
  • Ultra Spirit Magnet (Most pickups will automatically be absorbed; costs 1 point)
  • Energy Efficiency (Energy pickups reward 50% more energy; costs 2 points)
  • Ability Markers (Makes ability cells show up on the map; costs 2 points)
  • Spirit Efficiency (Increases spirit efficiency; costs 2 points)
  • Life Markers (Makes life cells show up on the map; costs 2 points)
  • Energy Markers (Makes energy cells show up on the map; costs 2 points)
  • Sense (Allows Ori to see through walls to find hidden areas; costs 3 points)
