The Microsoft Surface Pro 8 has long been rumored to be coming soon in 2021. At the time of writing, however, it’s still nowhere to be seen. Microsoft hasn’t confirmed a Surface Pro 8 release date or even announced a new upgrade to this line of devices. This has left many tech enthusiasts wondering: “Should I wait for the Microsoft Surface Pro 8?”
Should I wait for the Surface Pro 8?
The Microsoft Surface Pro 8 is worth waiting for if a potentially better Intel processor, more storage, and more RAM are must-have features.
Leaks (via unreliable_noob) point towards the Surface Pro 8 design looking the same as the 7, meaning little to no external changes. It’s the internal components that are rumored to be receiving upgrades. For those who can settle for the Surface Pro 7’s specs, it might be worth biting the bullet and buying that device now.
It’s always difficult knowing when to wait or upgrade in the world of technology. It seems there’s always another iteration right around the corner, but if users keep on waiting, they would never make the jump!
Of course, Microsoft has yet to make any official announcements about the new Surface Pro 8. Until the specs are confirmed, it’s difficult to know for sure whether new Surface 7 Pro owners will come to regret their purchase. For now, all we can say is that the rumors point towards a minor update on internals.
In other Microsoft news, the official Xbox Wireless Headset was announced with a special “auto-mute” function that should help players avoid embarrassing moments.
There’s been a lot of hardware news lately, with a rumored “Nintendo Switch Pro” supposedly targeting a late 2021 release date. It reportedly boasts an OLED screen and supports 4K when docked.
