One of the big drops during this week’s Summer Game Fest Kickoff Live event was, of course, Elden Ring. While we got an amazing trailer, news on the game’s invasions and co-op multiplayer is what people are after.
Will Elden Ring have co-op and invasions?
It does seem that co-op online multiplayer for up to four players will be supported, it is still unclear if the game will feature invasions.
Players will be able to team up with up to 3 additional friends for some online co-op gameplay, but word of invasion PvP in Elden Ring is still yet to be announced. The new trailer did feature what looked like summons, where you can bring someone in to help you out if you’re currently stuck on an impossible task in the game, but we are all hungry for the invasion angles which will hopefully be announced sooner rather than later. Because who doesn’t want to group up with some friends to battle others in online fantasy world mayhem?
As for the game itself, the trailer was quite breathtaking and we all got a good look at what the story itself will entail for Elden Ring. We still have quite the wait for its release date. In the meantime, we hope to see more news, gameplay, and features announced in the coming months. Here at GR, we are all hungry for more fantasy adventure from George R.R. Martin, the mind behind our HBO obsessions, Game of Thrones, and director Hidetaka Miyazaki who just loves to torture players in Demon Souls and Dark Souls.
Prepare your magic and your swords, the game will be here before you know it! You can pick up and play Elden Ring for yourself when the game releases on January 21, 2022 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
