Sea of Thieves A Pirate's Life: How to get Trident of Dark Tides

Sea of Thieves A Pirate’s Life: How to get Trident of Dark Tides

Sea of Thieves‘ next big expansion A Pirate’s Life is now available. Aside from introducing the colorful cast of the Pirates of the Caribbean films, this new expansion also introduces all-new weapons. One of them, the Trident of Dark Tides, comes into frequently play throughout the adventure. Here’s how to get one of these bubble-blowing tridents for yourself.

Sea of Thieves: How to get the Trident of Dark Tides

The Trident of Dark Tides will be given to you during Tall Tales in the Sea of Thieves’ A Pirate’s Life expansion. After that, you can get your own Trident by looting shipwrecks, opening Skeleton Fort vaults, or killing Siren Leaders.

Basically, the expansion intends for you to find a Trident of Dark Tides quite early. You’ll be given one at various points during A Pirate’s Life, but you can’t really keep it. That’s because, like other held items, it will be dropped any time you sprint or use a Mermaid.

However, that’s not to say you can’t find your own outside of scripted events. Primarily, Tridents of Dark Tides are dropped by Siren Leaders. These are new baddies in A Pirate’s Life, and they aren’t hard to spot. They’re quite clearly larger, more aggressive sirens, and they happen to wield their very own tridents.

Outside of battle, you can also find these weapons as random loot. They can appear inside shipwrecks, inside Skeleton Fort vaults, or washed up on random shorelines. Granted, their appearance isn’t guaranteed, but if you keep your eyes open, you’re bound to find one sooner or later.

Once you have a Trident of Dark Tides, using it is easy. Simply hold the primary fire button to charge a bubble, or use the secondary fire button to prime an attack. Be warned, though: Tridents of Dark Tides have a set amount of charge, and will disappear once the charge is used up. For what it’s worth, they can’t be sold, either. Your best bet is to use them when you find them, as much of A Pirate’s Life was designed with the Trident in mind. Try using it while you play Sea of Thieves in VR.
