Sea of Thieves X Button Not Working: How to fix can’t pick up item bug

Sea of Thieves Season Three is here, along with the A Pirate’s Life expansion featuring an SoT x PotC collaboration. There’s tons of exciting new content, though, unfortunately, no fix for a long-running problem. The Sea of Thieves X button not working glitch (F key not working glitch, for PC users) prevents players from pickin’ up their plunder. So, is there a quick and easy Sea of Thieves can’t pick up item bug fix? Here’s the need-to-know info on a potential cause and solution.

Sea of Thieves can’t pick up items bug fix

If the X button (or F key) doesn’t work in Sea of Thieves and users can’t pick up items, try repositioning and interacting with the loot from different angles and elevations. This can stop the SoT button prompt from automatically canceling, allowing pirates to pick up their treasure.

Should players find themselves unable to lift underwater items in Sea of Thieves, this could be an entirely different bug. Treasure will only float for a limited time, after which it sinks and eventually becomes unretrievable. At this point, items should disappear — it doesn’t always happen, however, resulting in a visual glitch. Technically, those items are no longer there, despite the fact that players can still see them. As a result, not being able to pick up loot is intentional although frustrating for the uninitiated.

When it comes to items floating on the water’s surface and treasure on solid ground — skulls, chests, resources, etc. — they are actually there. Despite this, there can be a similar effect where an X button glitch prevents pirates from picking items up. In these instances, try interacting with the items from different angles and elevations as it may eventually unstick them. Failing that, fingers crossed that Rare will release an official patch in a future Sea of Thieves game update.

In other news, this adult Minecraft mod is definitely NSFW. Speaking of not being safe, Apple is encouraging iPhone users to grab the new iOS update due to a security vulnerability. Several US states are also banning gaming PCs, due to new legislation on cutting their power consumption.
