The Ascent Nintendo Switch release date

When is The Ascent Nintendo Switch release date?

True to its name, The Ascent is rising to the top as one of the most popular new releases right now. PC and Xbox players are exploring its cyberpunk setting, though Nintendo Switch fans can’t currently join in. So, is there a The Ascent Nintendo Switch release date coming up? Here’s the latest information on the twin-stick ARPG coming to Nintendo’s hybrid handheld.

What is The Ascent Nintendo Switch release date?

The Ascent Nintendo Switch release date

The Ascent launched for Xbox and PC on July 29, 2021. There is no The Ascent Nintendo Switch release date at this time.

Unfortunately, there isn’t any The Ascent Nintendo Switch, Switch Lite, and Switch OLED model version in the works right now. Neither Curve Digital nor Neon Giant has made any announcements with regards to plans for an eventual The Ascent Nintendo Switch port. This doesn’t guarantee that it won’t happen in the future, however.

The Ascent’s publisher, Curve Digital, has plenty of experience releasing Nintendo Switch games. Additionally, marketing materials haven’t overtly been pushing The Ascent as an Xbox console exclusive. In situations where there’s ambiguity, more often than not, the game in question will eventually come to additional platforms. In this instance, that could mean a Nintendo Switch version will eventually see the light of day.

It’s only possible to speculate right now, of course, though it would follow past precedence. If there is some form of Microsoft exclusivity, that still wouldn’t rule out The Ascent on Nintendo Switch altogether. The Xbox manufacturer has shown a willingness to share its toys with Nintendo, so to speak, porting several titles to Switch and even licensing characters for Smash Ultimate. Thanks to its isometric viewpoint, The Ascent should also be scalable enough to shrink down and support the weaker Nintendo Switch hardware.

By the time a potential The Ascent Nintendo Switch launch date comes around, there should be a solution to the current co-op bug. Theoretically, it might even feature cross-play support with existing versions of the game. Cheat engines will obviously remain exclusive to the PC version, though that could be a good thing.
