Humankind multiplayer not working: Forcibly disconnected fix

Humankind multiplayer not working: Forcibly disconnected fix

There’s not much worse than sitting down for some time with Humankind only to discover multiplayer isn’t working. One of the more common issues results in an error where players are forcibly disconnected from the game. To make matters worse, this issue can be caused by any number of problems. Thankfully, there are a few common ways to fix the forcibly disconnected error and get Humankind multiplayer working again.

Humankind forcibly disconnected error: Multiplayer not working

Humankind multiplayer may stop working for a number of reasons, the most common being server issues. However, the forcibly disconnected error is unique to the Windows Store and Xbox versions of the game. Unfortunately, the only fix is to wait for the servers to stabilize.

Once again, the simplest fix is no fix at all, but a solution based around patience. Humankind multiplayer and online matchmaking are subject to the whims of the servers. If some kind of authentication fails — which appears to be the case with the forcibly disconnected error — there’s nothing you can do but wait for the developers to fix the issue themselves.

However, it is possible for multiplayer to stop working due to other issues. We’ve addressed a lot of error codes at Game Revolution, and while most connection issues come down to server outages, a few others are based on local network problems. Rarer still are ones based on local software.

Outside of server problems, your best bet to make sure Humankind multiplayer works is to make sure the game itself is running smoothly. Keep your drivers and software up to date, and minimize background software, particularly ones that use network data. You may also consider disabling any hardware monitoring software or external overlays, as they may also cause the game to crash at the loading screen.

The Humankind error that results in you being forcibly disconnected from the game is a result of server instability. There’s nothing you can do to fix the problem but wait for the developers to fix it themselves. Otherwise, you may have a problem with your local network or internet connection.
