FIFA 22 Homegrown Talent

FIFA 22: Homegrown Talent not working fix

FIFA 22 is out now, and Career Mode players will be sad to learn that the Homegrown Talent feature isn’t working. It’s an attribute assigned to specific young players – and as a pre-order bonus of the Ultimate Edition, you’re granted an exclusive Homegrown signing. With the feature not appearing properly for Career Mode managers, it means players aren’t getting the pre-order boosts they paid for. Fear not, as we dig into the Homegrown Talent issue, and how to fix it.

How to fix FIFA 22 Homegrown Talent not working

FIFA 22 Homegrown Talent

At the moment, EA Sports hasn’t fixed the Homegrown Talent glitch. In fact, there isn’t even any suggestion they’re working on it. As such, all you can do is wait until a patch is released in the coming days.

As FIFA 22 only launched worldwide on October 1, the issue with Homegrown Talent players not working only came to attention very recently. Since it was a pre-order bonus, it means a lot of players didn’t discover the issue until they booted up the game today. With so many now struggling with the problem, it means EA Sports will likely do something about it soon. We don’t have an exact date yet. Given the amount of post-launch support games need immediately after release, it shouldn’t be too long.

It seems there are two issues with FIFA 22 Homegrown Talent. Players either aren’t appearing, or come from the wrong nations. This latter issue is slightly less problematic, as FIFA players are at least getting the bonus they paid for. If you’re in a scenario where you’ve got a Homegrown Talent but from the wrong nation, try starting a new Career Mode save. Doing this enough times might jolt the game into giving you the right nation. That’s because they are randomized when you start a save.

If you don’t have a Homegrown Talent at all, then reinstalling the game is unlikely to make any difference. There’s clearly an issue with the game not registering the pre-order bonus. Hopefully EA Sports will remedy this in due course.
