Black Ops Cold War Scare Packages Not Counting

How to fix Black Ops Cold War Scare Packages not counting

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War‘s new The Haunting event is now under way, with players able to work through unique challenges in order to unlock the new LAPA SMG and other spooky cosmetic goodies. Unfortunately, the Scare Packages challenge is not working in multiplayer modes. Players, including those here at GameRevolution, have found that Scare Packages are not counting. Helpfully, there’s an easy fix.

Black Ops Cold War Scare Packages Not Counting

To fix the Black Ops Cold War Scare Packages not counting problem, players must do the following:

  1. Stop playing the competitive multiplayer.
  2. Load up the Zombies mode instead.
  3. Play Die Machine.
  4. Don’t open any doors.
  5. Wait for Round 6 and then open the bunny door.
  6. Open the Scare Package found within the room.
  7. Check the challenge page and see that it has been completed.

For whatever reason, Scare Packages earned in multiplayer are not counting for the LAPA challenge. While it’s possible to boot up Warzone to complete the challenges instead, many Call of Duty players will prefer to earn the new SMG within Black Ops Cold War. Thankfully, the above fix is working well.

Obviously, it’s frustrating that Scare Packages earned in multiplayer aren’t counting. Hopefully the developers at Treyarch are able to roll out a fix before the event ends.

For now, users can jump into Zombies to easily complete the open one Scare Package challenge.

Once the Scare Package challenge is completed, players can continue working on the other objectives. Happily, the other challenges appear to work fine. Fulfill all of their requirements to unlock the LAPA SMG.
