Is Clash of Clans being removed from iPhone and Android?

Recent rumors suggest that Clash of Clans could be heading for delisting and discontinuation. According to some online reports, Supercell’s strategy game will supposedly shut down and become unavailable next year. But, is Clash of Clans being removed from the Apple App Store for iPhone (iOS) and Google Play Store for Android? Here’s the lowdown on Clash of Clans shutting down in 2022 and disappearing from digital storefronts.

Clash of Clans Delisting: Is the app closing down on Android and iPhone?

Is Clash of Clans being removed from iPhone and Android

Clash of Clans is not facing removal from iPhone (iOS) and Android in 2022. The Clash of Clans app will still be playable on supported smartphones and tablets, as no delisting will take place.

Support for Clash of Clans is ending for iPhone and Android users running outdated OS versions, however. Following the upcoming CoC winter update, players with system software lower than iOS 11 or Android 5.0 will no longer be able to play the game. Clash of Clans itself will continue to function and isn’t going anywhere.

Supercell regretfully informs players that this change is a result of “technical reasons beyond [its] control” across both mobile platforms. Although it’s inconvenient, this is nothing out of the ordinary for ongoing mobile games. As more content arrives, older hardware (and its associated software) can struggle to keep up with the new demands.

All the details on Clash of Clans ending support for OS versions lower than iOS 11 or Android 5.0 are right here. That includes details on how to update to a new OS version on both iPhone and Android, should the device in question actually meet the minimum requirements for either software version.

Rest assured, Clash of Clans isn’t shutting/closing down in 2022. It also isn’t going to disappear from the App Store or Google Play Store. Some users might need to update or replace their mobile device(s) in order to keep playing the online strategy game, though.

In other news, a Hawkeye Fortnite skin could be on the way. Meanwhile, the Mass Effect TV show has an ex-BioWare staffer worried.
