Is Kyle Crane in Dying Light 2

Dying Light 2: Is Kyle Crane in the game?

Players wonder if Kyle Crane will be in Dying Light 2 since he was the first game’s protagonist. Both Kyle and Harran were in dire straits (or worse, depending on which ending players got), but his story seemed far from over. We’ll take a look at whether we figure out what happened to Kyle Crane after the original Dying Light below.

Is Kyle Crane in Dying Light 2?

Kyle Crane Dying Light 2

Kyle Crane is referenced in Dying Light 2, but he doesn’t appear in the game. Spike, one of Dr. Zere’s guards in the original game, is the first character players meet, and he states, “I wish Crane could have seen this,” when viewing a sunset.

There’s no indicator that Crane ever made it to Villedor. Techland may tell his story as part of the five years of support they have planned for the game, but he’s not part of the plot as of now.

What happens to Kyle Crane after Dying Light: The Following?

At the conclusion of Dying Light: The Following, players get two choices that decide Kyle’s fate:

  • Don’t nuke Harran
  • Nuke Harran

The canon ending is that Kyle chose not to kill the thousands left in Harran and the surrounding area, even if it meant eliminating the virus. If this is the case, The Mother infects Kyle with the serum. He manages to kill her but is transformed into a sentient volatile. Unfortunately, he realizes it too late and turns feral next to a mother and her children. He attacks them, which starts a new herd of undead that spreads the virus to the rest of the world.

If players choose to nuke Harran, The Mother takes Kyle to the launch room, and he inputs the codes. The nuke detonates and destroys Harran, Kyle, and The Mother shortly afterward.

So, the likely scenario is that Kyle Crane was the person that spread the virus outside of Harran and caused the worldwide outbreak. However, since he’s a sentient volatile, he could still be out there somewhere alive, even 20 years later.
