Kamala’s adventure continued in episode 3 when she discovered that Kamran’s mother, Najima revealed their heritage. They’re part of a group of beings called the Clandestines or Djinni. They were exiled from another dimension, and Kamala’s great-grandmother was one of them, which is how she inherited her powers. Kamala agrees to help the Clandestines but wants time to make sure she can travel through dimensions safely. Unfortunately, Najima decides to force Kamala to help them immediately.
The Clandestine overpower Kamala at her brother’s wedding, and Najima tries to use her bangle, which triggers a vision of a train. Department of Damage Control agents arrive and capture the Clandestine, but Kamala and Bruno are able to escape. Sana contacts Kamala and lets her know that she was also struck with a vision of a train and that she needs to visit her in Karachi, Pakistan.
