After their announcement at SDCC 2022, fans are clamoring to know what the Pokemon Squishmallows release date is and where you can buy them. These adorable, cuddly creations are a perfect fit for Pokemon, and we’ll be seeing some of our rounder friends transformed into Squishmallows soon. Here’s what we know about the first wave.

According to Kotaku, Jazwares, the company that makes Squishmallows, said the Pokemon Squishmallows’ release date is sometime this fall. The Pikachu and Gengar Squishmallows will launch at the Pokemon Center store first. They will come to other retailers later in 2022.
The Squish Alert Instagram, which is known for leaking info on Squishmallows, also claims that they received information pointing to a late 2022/early 2023 release at general retailers.
So far, we know that the first wave consists of:
- Gengar
- Pikachu
Squish Alert also stated the following two Pokemon would be debuting alongside them:
- Snorlax
- Togepi
They also claimed they’ll be available in these sizes:
- 14″: Gengar, Pikachu, Snorlax, Togepi
- 20″: Snorlax, Togepi
Where can I buy the Pokemon Squishmallows?
The Pokemon Squishmallows will debut at the Pokemon Center, and you should be able to buy them online sometime in Fall 2022. The collection should hit retailers like Target later on in the year or in early 2023. These aren’t being positioned as a limited edition item, and availability should be widespread.
In case you’re wondering what the big deal is, Squishmallows are like a less toxic Beany Baby. They’re made from soft spandex and filled with cushiony polyester fiber. They’re sold in several sizes, from small clip-ons to large pillow-sized creations. The collaboration with Pokemon is one of its biggest yet, and shows just how popular the toys have gotten since their launch in 2017. We can hardly wait to get our hands on fat Pikachu!
