Dead Space Remake: How to Unlock Alternate Ending: Where to Place Marker Fragments to Get Secret Ending

To get the alternate ending in Dead Space Remake, you must unlock New Game Plus. Then, you have to comb the Ishimura for a new item. Once you’ve obtained them, you must take them to a specific spot on the ship and place them on a table. After that’s complete, you finally unlock the secret ending.

Where to Place the Marker Fragments in Dead Space Remake to Unlock the Alternate Ending

You must get all 12 Marker Fragments in Dead Space Remake to unlock the alternate ending. Once you have them, you must take them to the Executive Quarter in the Crew Quarters section of the Ishimura. There you’ll find Captain B. Mathius’ quarters. Inside is a table with twelve candles. Approach it, and you’ll get a prompt asking if you want to activate it. Do so, then complete the game to get the secret ending.

Keep in mind that you must do this before you leave the Ishimura. It’s the one part of the process that absolutely requires backtracking, and if you exit the ship without doing it, you won’t trigger the ending. Unfortunately, gathering the markers alone won’t unlock it. Once Issac boards the shuttle and heads to the surface of the planet, it’s too late. Fortunately, you get a helpful warning when you hit the point of no return in Dead Space Remake.
