Final Fantasy 16 Xbox Release Date: Is it Coming to Series X|S?

Final Fantasy 16 is finally releasing later this year. The long-awaited next installment in the Final Fantasy series was first announced back in September 2020, a full four years after Final Fantasy 15 launched. It’s coming to PS5, but is the game coming to Xbox at any point? And if it is, is there a Final Fantasy XVI Xbox release date?

Is Final Fantasy 16 coming to Xbox?

Final Fantasy games are known to ping-pong around platforms. Several games in the series have been either exclusive or timed-exclusives for the PlayStation platform and have later made their way to other systems, and it’s looking likely that this is the same with Final Fantasy 16.

Final Fantasy 16 has been reiterated multiple times as being specifically a timed PlayStation exclusive. The original trailer mentioned it was also coming to PC, but that’s since been absolutely scrubbed and denied categorically by anybody involved.

It’s likely that there are contractual obligations that prevent them from discussing the game moving to other platforms, but it’s still a possibility that one day the game eventually gets ported to Xbox systems, just like many other games in the systems, and many other exclusive games that Square Enix have published over the years.
