Sons of the Forest regrow trees cheats console commands

Sons of the Forest Tree Regrowth Cheat: What Console Command Makes Trees Grow Back?

If you want regrow trees cheats in Sons of the Forest, there are a few methods you can use. There’s no command to regrow all trees immediately, but there are a few ways to get more logs or completely restore the island to its original state. However, both have their drawbacks.

Are there cheats to regrow trees in Sons of the Forest?

There’s no cheat in Sons of the Forest that regrows the trees you’ve already harvested. However, you can spawn more logs if you need them with the command console or restore the island to its default state, which will also regrow trees.

How to use spawn more tree logs cheat

With the command console, you can spawn more logs in Sons of the Forest. However, you need to enable the console first with these steps:

  1. Visit the Thunderstore mod repository.
  2. Install Thunderstore Mod Manager.
  3. Install BepinExPack IL2CPP
  4. Install DebugConsole mod.
  5. Launch the game using the Modded option in Thunderstore Mod Manager.

Once the game has launched, you can load your save. Press F1 once the game loads and type spawnitem log # (# = the number of logs you want to spawn at once). Just make sure to be ready to take a step back because if you spawn a bunch of logs at once, they may slam into you and cause damage.

How to regrow trees with JSON file

Sons of the Forest saves the status of each tree in a JSON file. So, you can swap the one in your save for a stock file to completely regenerate the map. However, this may cause some issues:

  • If you’ve built a structure where a tree used to be, it’ll clip through your building.
  • Any areas you’ve cleared out will be regrown.

Before you do anything, back up your save files from these locations:

Single-player: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Endnight\SonsOfTheForest\Saves#####\SinglePlayer##########

Multiplayer: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Endnight\SonsOfTheForest\Saves#####\Multiplayer##########

You can get a stock file on NexusMods. You can then use it to replace the file called “WorldObjectLocationManagerSaveData.json” found in the above locations.

There is a caveat to this method. It works as expected for single-player games but can be unpredictable with multiplayer saves. It’s also not permanent. So, if you need to regrow the trees in your save again, you’ll need to repeat the process.

Note that this only works in the launch version of the game. Also, the way saves work and their locations may change as development continues.
