Resident Evil 4 Remake Collapsible Ladder: How to Climb the Ladder in the Village Chief’s Manor

You’ll find a collapsible ladder in the Village Chief’s Manor in Resident Evil 4 remake. Unfortunately, it’s easy to miss, as the lever to open the hatch leading to it is hidden behind a painting. Even more disappointing is that when you do find it, you’ll be wondering how to climb it. Fortunately, figuring out how to climb the collapsible ladder isn’t that tough.

How to climb the collapsible ladder in the Village Chief’s Manor in Resident Evil 4 remake

You’ll need to bring Ashley with you to climb the collapsible ladder in the Village Chief’s Manor in Resident Evil 4 remake. Leon will be by himself the first time you’re there, so like with the building in the Village; you’ll just have to stay patient for a little bit.

You’ll rescue Ashley toward the end of Chapter 4. Once you’ve found her, she’ll follow you around, and you’ll get a chance to explore most of the area you’ve been through so far.

To get back to the Village Chief’s Manor, follow these directions:

  • Head north from the Church.
  • Go through the Town Hall.
  • Pass through the Village Square and take the south exit.
  • Keep on the path until you reach the Village Chief’s Manor.

Once you get there, bring Ashley upstairs to Mendez’s bedroom. Once there, you can stand under the collapsible ladder and press the interact button to boost Ashley up. Then, she’ll extend it, and you can climb up and explore the new area.
