The Resident Evil 4 Remake exclusive upgrade is expensive, but well worth the price if you have the right weapon and the resources to install it. That said, there are a lot of weapons in the RE4 remake, so we’ve gone ahead and made a handy list of the exclusive upgrades below. We’ll also give our recommendations for the best weapons to get the exclusive upgrade for.
Exclusive upgrades are available from the Merchant starting in Chapter 9. Playing the game on Professional difficulty, which can be accessed after playing the game once, also unlocks exclusive upgrades right from the beginning. You can unlock exclusive upgrades for a weapon by either upgrading it fully or using an exclusive upgrade ticket, which can be obtained by trading 30 or more spinel for it.

Best RE4 Remake exclusive upgrades
We recommend that players focus on the Blacktail handgun for exclusive upgrades, as it already has excellent balance. The increased power from the exclusive upgrade makes it pack a punch and saves on handgun ammo, which is strangely scarce throughout the game.
If you’re looking for sheer power, then the Broken Butterfly or the SM 1903 rifle is worth looking at. Spending an Exclusive Upgrade Ticket on either of these two items will save a bit of money too as their exclusive upgrades cost a whopping 100,000 pesetas.
Our other recommendation is the infinite durability exclusive upgrade for the Primal Knife, though you’ll only be able to obtain this after destroying every Clockwork Castellan in the game. Knives are extremely useful but have limited durability, so having an indestructible knife for subsequent playthroughs is fantastic.
Last but not least, the infinite ammo exclusive upgrade for the Chicago Sweeper is a no-brainer as well, but you’ll only unlock this weapon if you finish Professional Mode with an A rank. At that point, you may already have the Infinite Rocket Launcher at the hefty price of 2 million pesetas. Having either of these makes completing the game almost trivial.
