Star Wars Jedi Survivor Rift Passage Elevator

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor: Rift Passage Lift: How to Activate the Shortcut

You’ll have to wait a while to activate the Rift Passage lift in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. While you can encounter it fairly early in the game, you won’t get a chance to open the shortcut until more than halfway through the main story. Unfortunately, the wait is relatively anti-climactic as it’s not really all that useful compared to fast travel.

Where does the Rift Passage lift go in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor?

Star Wars Jedi Survivor Rift Passage Map

In Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the Rift Passage lift connects to the Observatory Understructure. You can access the Rift Passage on your way to the Forest Array as early as Chapter 2.2. However, you won’t be able to activate it (or open the red crate next to it) until Chapter 5.

To activate the Rift Passage lift, you’ll need to do the following:

  • First, make it to Chapter 5 and take out Rayvis.
  • Go through the Fogged Expanse.
  • Fight through Imperial Post 8L-055.
  • Take the elevator to Summit Ridge.
  • Cross over to the Observatory Understructure.
  • Make it to the lowest level of the central structure.
  • Circle around toward the rear.
  • Take the larger circular lift down.

One thing to note is that there are three elevators located in the same vicinity as the one you’re trying to find. Ignore the two smaller rectangular ones (which aren’t functional your first time through the area anyway).

Unfortunately, the shortcut from the Observatory Understructure to Rift Passage is one of the less useful ones in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. There’s no real point to it, as both sides of the shortcut are close to Meditation Circles. However, it might be for those who want to do a no fast travel challenge, in which case it allows you to revisit the observatory without climbing all the way back up the summit and crossing over.
