Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Horse Transfer Not Showing Up Fix

The convenient Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom horse transfer isn’t working for many players, with their horses from Breath of the Wild not showing up in the game. Yes, if you didn’t know already, you can import any horses you have tamed in BotW into TotK. The way it’s apparently supposed to work is that you just have to visit a stable somewhere in the game and your horses will show up, but they still might not show up that way. Here’s how to get the horse transfer to work in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

How to fix BotW horse transfer not showing up in Tears of the Kingdom?

If the horse transfer feature in Tears of the Kingdom isn’t working, you need to first catch and register a horse in the game before your horses from Breath of the Wild show up. Either that, or you need to speak with the stable owner multiple times.

There also might be a problem with the horse transfer if your BotW save file is from Master Mode, according to one Reddit user on the TotK Reddit. If that’s the case, there’s not much you can about that unfortunately. Also, another user says that the first “mini stable” you find in the game doesn’t trigger the horse transfer either because you can’t register horses at it.

Horses not showing up has been a problem from many players, but a few users on Reddit have verified that you can get it to work by finding any wild horse in TotK, mounting it, and then taking the horse. When you bring that horse to the stable, an NPC should then tell you that you actually have several horses waiting for you.

As for the horse transfer feature, this even works for special horses in Breath of the Wild like Ganon’s horse, Titan, as well as Epona. We’ve also got a guide for finding Epona in Tears of the Kingdom in case you missed her the first time around. Once you get her, you might as well register her at the stable and go through the process of getting the stable bulletin boards working.
