Destiny 2: How to Fish, Focused Fishing, Locations & Rewards

Destiny 2 has added a new feature in its latest season, allowing players to relax and enjoy fishing. Fishing is a fun and rewarding activity that can help you get some loot and experience the beauty of the game’s worlds. This article will explain how to fish in Destiny 2, fish locations, and what kind of fish you can catch via focused fishing.

How to fish in Destiny 2

To start fishing, you need to complete the first weekly mission of Season of the Deep, called “Into the Depths.” This mission will introduce you to the story of the season and the new threat of Ahsa, a mysterious creature that has taken over Titan. After completing the mission, you will receive a quest from the holoprojector that will ask you to speak with Hawthorne at the Tower.

Hawthorne will give you a Fishing Tackle, a device that allows you to fish at designated ponds. She will also ask you to collect some bait for the fish. You can get bait by completing various activities such as Salvage, Deep Dive, Strikes, Crucible, Gambit, patrols, or public events. The amount of bait you get depends on the difficulty and duration of the activity. You will need 15 bait in total for the quest.

Once you have enough bait and Fishing Tackle, you can go to one of the three fishing ponds located in different destinations. The first pond is in the EDZ, near Firebase Hades. The second pond is in Nessus, in the Cistern area. The third pond is in Savathun’s Throne World, in Miasma.

To fish, simply walk up to the pond and press the interact button. Your character will cast their rod and wait for a bite. When you see a splash in the water, press the interact button again to reel in your catch. You can catch different types of fish depending on the location and rarity. Some fish are common, some are rare, some are legendary, and some are exotic.

What is focused fishing in Destiny 2?

Focused fishing is a meter that appears at the bottom your screen that represents what kind of fish you can catch. The higher the meter, the more likely it is that you’ll catch a rare fish.

Bait improves the Focused Fishing meter, and getting a Perfect Catch will also increase it.

What rewards can you get from fishing in Destiny 2

Fishing in Destiny 2 is not only relaxing but also rewarding. Each fish you catch will give you some loot to help you progress in the game. The loot you get depends on the fish’s rarity and luck. Here are some examples of rewards you can get from fishing in Destiny 2:

  • Glimmerfish: Gives you glimmer and planetary materials.
  • Sharkfin: Gives you legendary shards and enhancement cores.
  • Titanfish: Gives you seasonal weapons and armor.
  • Siren: Gives you exotic weapons and armor.
