Baldur's Gate 3 Devilfoil Mask Devil Foil Locations Keep or Sell

Baldur’s Gate 3 Devilfoil Mask: Should I Keep or Sell Them?

The Baldur’s Gate 3 Devilfoil Mask, also known as the Devil Foil Mask, can be found throughout Grymforge in the Underdark. In fact, there are four of these Devilfoil Masks spread across the dark and dilapidated remains of the area. Like the Owlbear Egg and regular gemstones, all of them can be sold at a vendor for quite a lot of gold, but you might be wondering if there’s something more to them. Here’s where to find all four Devilfoil Mask locations and whether you should sell or keep them.

Should you keep or sell Baldur’s Gate 3 Devilfoil Mask?

You should keep any Devilfoil Mask you find in Grymforge and not sell it for gold at the moment.

According to info by the community on Steam, you may be able to give Dammon in Act 2 or later one of these Devilfoil Mask items and turn them into rare gear.

That said, each of these Devilfoil Masks can be sold for a large amount of money. One of these masks is worth a base value of 240 gold pieces. So if you’re in need of some cash, it’s not a bad idea to sell them. We recommend selling more mundane items or basic uncommon items for cash first, especially since you can stuff them into a Chest of the Mundane without having to worry about weight, before handing off the masks.

Where to find Baldur’s Gate 3 Devilfoil Mask locations

The following are general descriptions of where you can find all four Devilfoil Mask locations:

  • Merregon Legionnaire – This enemy boss can be found walking on patrol around coordinates X -570, Y 381. Killing this foe will net you a mask on its body.
  • Altar Near Merregon Legionnaire – There is also an altar near the legionnaire that will have a second mask ready to be grabbed.
  • Main Hall Table – At around coordinates X -620, Y 325, you will find this mask resting on table.
  • Skeleton Near Cave-In – Near coordinates X -665, Y 460, there will be a cave-in that you can destroy with force damage like a bomb. From there, you can find a skeleton past the cave-in that has a mask.

The Devilfoil Mask has a passive effect where having two of them close to each other will give the wearer +1 Strength, but -1 Intelligence, -1 Wisdom, and -1 Charisma. This effect stacks with all the other masks, so you probably don’t want your entire party to wear them at the same time.

BG3 Devilfoil Mask FAQ

Q: Where can the Devilfoil Masks be found in Baldur’s Gate 3?

A: You can locate Devilfoil Masks in Grymforge in the Underdark. Notably, they’re on a patrolling Merregon Legionnaire, near an altar by the same legionnaire, on a table in the main hall, and by a cave-in accessible after using force damage.

Q: Is it better to sell or keep the Devilfoil Masks?

A: While selling a mask yields 240 gold pieces, it’s advised to retain them. Some community members on Steam mention trading a mask with Dammon in Act 2 for rare gear. If you need gold, consider selling other items before the masks.

Q: Do the Devilfoil Masks have any special effects when worn?

A: Yes. When two are close, the wearer gets +1 Strength but reductions in Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma. This impact is cumulative with additional masks, so wearing several simultaneously might not be beneficial.
